A change is happening to our Asda offer, let us explain...
Asda has decided to end its Blue Light Card discount on 27th May 2025.
We know this might not be the news you were hoping for, especially if you’ve been making good use of the discount. It’s always frustrating when a benefit you rely on comes to an end, so we completely understand if this feels like a disappointment.
Asda is making several changes to how it offers value to its customers by moving towards a new everyday pricing approach. This means shifting away from selected discounts, like the Blue Light Card offer, in favour of a different pricing strategy. While this change is part of a bigger plan, we know that doesn’t necessarily make it any easier if you’ve been benefiting from the discount.
The good news? There are still plenty of ways to save with BLC. We’re always working to bring you the best offers, and below, you’ll find details on alternative offers you can take advantage of.
Firstly, let us explain a bit more about why this this change is happening and answer some of the questions that you might have.
Why has Blue Light Card’s partnership with Asda ended?
Asda is making some big changes to how it approaches pricing and value for its customers. As part of this, it’s ending the Blue Light Card discount on 27th May.
When does the discount end?
The last day to use the discount is 27th May, so you can still make the most of it for the next two weeks!
Is this because more member, like teacher, have joined Blue Light Card?
No, that’s not the reason. This is purely Asda’s decision as it shifts towards a new pricing strategy.
Our community is growing stronger every day, and that means better deals for you! Over the past year, we’ve added 250+ new partners, including Very, Deliveroo, British Airways, and Avis, bringing you more ways to save than ever before.
With regular use of your card across all our offers, you could save over £600 a year (that’s £50+ a month!). More partners, bigger savings, it all adds up, all because of our evolving membership.
Will any other major supermarkets be joining Blue Light Card?
We already have eight supermarket partners, including Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Morrisons, where you can save up to £200 a year (£15+ a month) on your groceries through our voucher shop, which you can find on the app or website by searching for your preferred supermarket.
Check out how you can get all the benefits of the voucher shop in the video below.
I can’t get to any of those supermarkets, Asda is my local. What can I do?
Good news! While the in-store discount is ending, you can still save at Asda through our voucher shop, which ensures you continue to make great savings on your groceries.
