We only need to see documentation that proves your current employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.

🚫 We can’t approve your application if:
The name on your ID or payslip doesn’t match your account
Your payslip is more than 3 months old
We can’t confirm your prison or probation service affiliation from the document
🏛️ Retired HM Prison & Probation Service Staff
You're eligible for a Blue Light Card! To apply, simply upload the following:
📄 A pension document from any provider
📝 Proof of at least 4 years’ relevant employment
We only need to see documentation that proves your retired status/former employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, pension provider, and if you need to provide supporting evidence of former employment you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.
✅ What counts as proof of employment?
You can provide:
Two documents dated at least 4 years apart (e.g. P60s or payslips)
An employment or leaver letter showing your start and end dates
A professional registration record showing your work history or cease date
