To get verified, simply send us one of the following, making sure the name matches your Blue Light Card account:
🪪 A work ID card showing your name and British Red Cross affiliation
📄 A recent payslip (dated within the last 3 months) showing your name and British Red Cross affiliation. Sign Up Here!
We only need to see documentation that proves your current employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.
⚠️ A few things to watch out for:
🚫 The name on your ID or payslip must match your Blue Light Card account
📆 Payslips must be dated within the last 3 months
❓ If we can’t confirm your British Red Cross affiliation from the document, we won’t be able to approve it

You're eligible for a Blue Light Card! To apply, just upload the following:
📄 A pension document from any provider
📝 Proof of at least 4 years’ relevant employment
We only need to see documentation that proves your retired status/former employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, pension provider, and if you need to provide supporting evidence of former employment you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.
✅ What counts as proof of employment?
You can upload:
📂 Two documents dated at least 4 years apart (e.g. P60s or payslips)
📨 An employment or leaver letter showing your start and end dates
🗂️ A professional registration record with your work history or cease date
