 We only need to see documentation that proves your current employment to check that you are eligible.  When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.

To apply under this category, upload an ID document that matches the name on your Blue Light Card account.

A payslip showing:
Your full name
Your MoD Fire affiliation
A date within the last 3 months
⚠️ Common reasons documents are declined:
The name doesn’t match your Blue Light Card account
The payslip is older than 3 months
An MoD door pass was uploaded (not accepted)
We couldn’t verify your MoD Fire employment from the document
🛡️ Retired MoD Fire Service staff?
You're still eligible - just upload:
đź“„ A pension document from any provider
📝 Proof of at least 4 years’ relevant employment
 We only need to see documentation that proves your retired status/former employment to check that you are eligible.  When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, pension provider, and if you need to provide supporting evidence of former employment you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.
What counts as proof of employment?
You can use:
Two documents dated at least 4 years apart (like P60s or payslips)
An employment or leaver letter showing your start and end dates
A professional registration record with your work history or cease date
