 We only need to see documentation that proves your current employment to check that you are eligible.  When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.

✅ Accepted proof of eligibility

  • Recent payslip showing:

    • Your full name

    • A clear link to the Armed Forces

    • Dated within the last 3 months

⚠️ Common reasons for ID being declined

  • The name on your payslip doesn’t match your Blue Light Card account

  • Your payslip is more than 3 months old

  • We couldn’t confirm Armed Forces affiliation from the document provided

  • Armed Forces pension document

  • Valedictory letter

🕊️ War Service Widow(er)

You’re eligible to apply for a Blue Light Card. Please upload one document confirming your spouse’s service.

✅ Accepted documents:

  • Armed Forces pension document

  • Death in service certificate

  • Addressed letter from the War Widows Association GB

  • MOD letter
