You’re eligible to apply for a Blue Light Card if you’re a currently employed Social Worker in a recognised organisation.
We only need to see documentation that proves your current employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.

Volunteer - 🚫 Not eligible
Volunteer roles aren’t included in this category.
📁 Proof you’ll need to upload
To confirm your eligibility, please upload one of the following:
🪪 Work ID card showing:
Your full name
Your organisation’s name
Your Social Care number (if applicable)
📄 Payslip from the last 3 months showing:
Your full name
Your organisation’s name
A clear date within the last 3 months
Retired Social Worker Staff
You can still apply just follow the steps below:

Acceptable documents include:
1️⃣ Two documents dated 4+ years apart (e.g. employer P60s or payslips)
2️⃣ An employment or leaver letter with start and end dates
3️⃣ A professional registration record with your work history or cease date
💡 These are just examples other documents showing your work history may also be accepted.

When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, pension provider, and if you need to provide supporting evidence of former employment you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.
