We only need to see documentation that proves your current employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.

You’re eligible if you’re a direct employee of:
HM Coastguard
Coast Watch
Or any Coast Watch institution
🤝 Volunteer
You also qualify if you volunteer directly with:
HM Coastguard
Coast Watch
Or within a Coast Watch institution

You’re eligible for a Blue Light Card! 🎉
To apply, simply upload:
📄 A pension document from any provider
📝 Proof of at least 4 years’ relevant employment
We only need to see documentation that proves your retired status/former employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, pension provider, and if you need to provide supporting evidence of former employment you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.
✅ What can I use as proof of employment?
You can provide:
Two documents dated at least 4 years apart (e.g. P60s or payslips)
An employment or leaver letter showing your start and end dates
A professional registration record with your work history or cease date
