🎖️ Applying as an HM Armed Forces Veteran
If you're a veteran of the HM Armed Forces and would like to apply for a Blue Light Card, you'll need to upload one document that confirms your service.
We only need to see documentation that proves your current employment to check that you are eligible. When you upload your documentation, we recommend that you redact all information other than your name, employer and date.
✅ Accepted documents include:
📄 Certificate of Service - must show your name, service number, and confirmation of UK Armed Forces service
📄 Certificate of Discharge - with your name, service number, and Armed Forces affiliation
📄 Old Armed Forces payslip - showing your name, service number, and military connection
📄 Pension document - confirming your name and Armed Forces history
🪪 Veteran ID Card
🪪 Defence Discount Service card
📄 Record of Service
✉️ A letter from the MOD or another official document confirming your military service
✉️ A letter on Veterans UK headed paper
